The short version. Couple is free. Your content stays yours. Be decent to your partner and to other people in Community. We keep the service running as best we can, but we can't promise it will never break — so don't rely on it as your only copy of anything precious.
1. Accepting these terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Radkai Studio ("we", "us") covering your use of the Couple mobile app and this website (together, "the Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data and forms part of these Terms.
2. What Couple is
Couple is a private space for two people in a relationship to keep shared memories, notes, plans, goals and messages, along with some light-hearted extras like a shared virtual pet.
It is a consumer app for personal use. It is not a counselling, therapy, medical or emergency service, and nothing in it is professional advice. If you need help, please speak to a qualified professional or your local emergency services.
3. Who can use it
You must be at least 13 years old to use Couple, and old enough to form a binding contract where you live. If you're under 18, you should have a parent or guardian's permission. Where local law sets a higher minimum age for consenting to data processing, that higher age applies.
4. Your account
- Give accurate information when you sign up, and keep your email address current so you can recover your account.
- Keep your password to yourself. You're responsible for what happens under your account.
- Tell us at info@radkai.studio if you think someone else has got into it.
- One person, one account. Don't impersonate anybody.
5. Linking with a partner
Most of Couple only works once you've linked with one other person. When you link:
- Your partner can see the shared content described in the Privacy Policy — memories, notes, messages, moods, goals, plans, and your shared pet.
- Content you add is visible to them from that point on. Treat anything you put in the app as something they will read.
- Either of you may unlink. Unlinking stops future sharing; it does not retrieve or unsend what has already been shared, and your partner may still hold a copy of shared content.
Only link with someone who has agreed to it. Don't use the app to monitor, pressure or control another person — see section 7.
6. Your content
You own your content. Photos, videos, notes, messages and everything else you put into Couple remain yours.
You give us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, back up, reproduce and transmit your content — only as far as it's needed to run the Service for you and your partner (for example, storing a photo and delivering it to your partner's phone). This licence exists purely so the app can work; we don't use your content for anything else, and it ends when the content is deleted, subject to short-lived backups.
You confirm you have the right to upload what you upload, and that it doesn't infringe anyone else's rights.
Please keep your own copies. Couple is not a backup service. Don't let it be the only place a photo or a memory exists.
7. What's not allowed
Don't use Couple to:
- harass, threaten, stalk, monitor or control another person, including a partner or ex-partner;
- link with, or share content with, someone who hasn't consented to it;
- upload content that is illegal, hateful, or sexually exploitative — in particular, anything sexualising a minor, which we report to the relevant authorities;
- upload someone else's private images or personal information without their permission;
- impersonate anyone, or misrepresent who you are;
- break into, overload, scrape, reverse-engineer or otherwise interfere with the Service or its infrastructure;
- use the Service for anything unlawful, or in breach of any applicable law.
If you are experiencing abuse or coercive control, please reach out to a support service in your area. We can suspend accounts that break these rules, but we are not able to intervene in personal situations.
8. Community section
The Community section is shared with other people using Couple — it is not private to you and your partner. Anything you post there, along with your display name, can be seen by other users.
Post responsibly, don't share other people's private details, and keep it civil. We may remove posts or comments that break these Terms, and we may suspend accounts that repeatedly do so. We don't pre-moderate posts and aren't responsible for what other users write.
9. Availability and changes
Couple is provided free of charge. We'll do our best to keep it running, but we can't guarantee it will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free. We may need to take it down for maintenance, and features may be added, changed or removed over time.
If we make a significant change to these Terms, we'll update the date at the top of this page and let you know in the app or by email. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
10. Ending your account
You can stop using Couple at any time. To have your account and content deleted, email info@radkai.studio from your account's email address; we'll confirm and complete it within 30 days. See section 11 of the Privacy Policy for what happens to content you shared with a partner.
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these Terms, or where we're required to by law. Where it's reasonable to do so, we'll tell you why and give you a chance to respond.
11. Our intellectual property
The Couple name, logo, app design, illustrations and software are owned by Radkai Studio and protected by intellectual property law. These Terms grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for its intended purpose — they don't transfer any ownership to you. Please don't copy, modify, redistribute or create derivative works from the app without our written permission.
12. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
We don't warrant that the Service will meet your requirements, be uninterrupted or secure, or that any defect will be corrected. We are not responsible for the conduct of other users, or for anything your partner does with content you share with them.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any right you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded or limited under the law where you live.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Radkai Studio will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, goodwill or content, arising out of or relating to your use of the Service.
Because the Service is free, our total aggregate liability to you for any claim relating to the Service is limited to [LIABILITY CAP — e.g. USD 100 — confirm with your lawyer].
Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION — fill in], and the courts of [JURISDICTION — fill in] have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, except where mandatory local consumer law gives you the right to bring proceedings where you live.
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in force.
